Sue Fawcus MB.BCH.MA (OXON). FRCOG is a Senior Scholar and Emeritus professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Cape Town, and previously Head of Obstetrics services at Mowbray Maternity Hospital (1996-2018). She is deputy chairperson of the National Committee for Confidential Enquiry into Maternal Deaths, South Africa, with the responsibility of analyzing all deaths due to obstetric haemorrhage, and related to Caesarean section. She is involved in initiatives to promote respectful maternity care.
